What is Profhilo?

A multi-award-winning product, Profhilo is a series of injections that contain very high concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is slowly released into the skin. Profhilo has many celebrity fans, and for good reason. A truly unique product, Profhilo rehydrates, smooths and plumps up the skin, lifting and tightening and making you look refreshed and radiant.

​Once injected into the skin, the HA spreads out and then acts like a sponge, absorbing water and expanding, intensely hydrating the skin and making the skin look healthier and plumper. This process lasts for around a month, and during this time it stimulates the development of new HA, collagen and elastin, resulting in a significant tightening and lifting effect.

What skin conditions/issues does Profhilo treat?

​Profhilo is ideal for improving skin texture, laxity, crepey skin, and a lack of radiance/dull complexion. Profhilo can be used on the face, neck and hands. Profhilo also works well in combination with other aesthetic treatments.

What happens during a Profhilo treatment?

​Following a consultation where we will discuss the procedure in detail, together with your treatment aims, an anaesthetic cream will be applied. Profhilo is delivered into the skin via a series of ten injections (five each side). Treatment time is approximately 45-minutes.

Is a Profhilo treatment painful?

​The procedure is usually well-tolerated as numbing cream is applied before the procedure. A slight stinging sensation is usually felt when the product is administered.

How many Profhilo sessions are required for great results?

​Two treatments, one month apart, are recommended for best results. Top-up treatments are recommended once or twice a year.

​

Profhilo is not suitable if you have the following conditions:

• ​Any bleeding disorder or anticoagulant therapy

• Immunocompromising disorders or therapies

• Keloid scarring

• Scleroderma

• Cancer (5 years all clear required)

• Open wounds/skin infections

• Allergy to stainless steel or anaesthetic cream. A patch test 4-5 days before treatment is required for anyone with significant allergies.
